Finally, the Day has arrived. We are heading back home after having spent close to a month in Hungary. I and the dogs have had a wonderful and memorable time.
But I am not very fond of travel-day drills. Early rise, check luggages, check all paperwork, coordinate with the car rental place, checking, double checking, triple checking… ticket, dog papers, passport, vallet etc. Than the worry about traffic, parking at the airport, the glove compartment, do not forget the phone charger… anything under the seat.. ?
than the juggling act of moving the dogs, crates, luggages into the building, check in the dogs, than the emotional farewell from my sister and niece…
…It is always so hard… all those memories of 50+ years hit you again…love, passion remorse, regret, panic and the separation anxiety…it is so hard to part from each other…
than I check in, turn around, look at them one more time… I always save these last pictures for the flight. Then the quiet walk to board the plain in the tunnel, the moment to compress all recent memories… Get my seat, peak at the people seated next to me and wait for the departure…
Where is my drink…?
