Just wanted to share this email  from Canada with all of you and tell you that it is really reassuring that our hard work with the pups fully functions in the metric system as well as in standard. We are so proud of little “Kuli” he is not even nine weeks old…

“Hi Ildiko – thought I’d give you a quick update. Kuli has settled in beautifully. He goes to the door when he needs to go out, and sleeps well through the night in his crate. Only two little messes in the house (which were our fault, we weren’t fast enough to the door). We had a large group of friends over on Saturday, and he was the star of the show. He is quite feisty, and has very sharp teeth. He gets over-zealous in his play, which I’m working on taming. My arms and hands are proof of our training sessions. I think his IQ is almost as high as mine?! Very quick learner, but doesn’t always follow what he learns yet. OOPS – he just figured out an escape route from the x-pen. Needs to be by our side at all times.  You were certainly right about that. He is well bonded to both of us which we are so happy about. He can be such a cuddlier when he’s settled. Talk to you soon…/lb”

Wow…! this has been one hell of a Pumi week Volks (folks)!  The  Pumis has pretty much over shadowed all national  news in the U.S.  “Obama Care…” never mind, Pumi pup and mom on “Fox and Friends,” “Possible Government Shot Down…”  please! everyone, be serious and rather worry about the crowd at the Pumi boot as reported on CBS News that  wether enough visitors had a chance to meet and greet the Pumis at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan, NY!

Great success, nice exposure and superb coordination by Dina Bochnik-Cooper! There is only one thing, can we have mayo next year with the sandwitches…?

Also, thank you for the dedication and commitment for all the Pumi owners who have traveled long hours, as Nancy and Meir,  two days to show up to spread the Gospel ( I guess Mary and Joseph had to have a herding dog, probably a Pumi to keep those sheep around the Baby Jesus…)

Would have been nice to have electricity and Wi-Fi to be paid for by the Club to awe and shock the crowd (after all we were in NYC The Greatest City in the World”) with some great agility, herding and other interesting Pumi videos.  Perhaps next year…

After the official business, some great personal Catskill Pumi Kennel News.  Two of our little guys have flown away to their new homes.  One of them, Kuli to Canada and Asz, joined the Confederate Pumis in Charleston, SC.  They have been adjusting fantastic and we were promised to get periodic updates of their lives with their new families.

Our fifth pup has also been spoken for.  Apacatancos Anka, one of the two females will be moving to New Jersey in November.

We have decided to keep Ara, the second girl, whom we hope to become the next Miss Pumi Universe :-)) It appears, that we’ve had a lucky start with a successful litter.

Things are accelerating.  The pups are growing, they need more exercise outside and more organized even custom tailored work.

They sleep in individual crates for discipline and also because of their ultimate separation is inevitable soon or later.

It might sound funny but they have double matured after NYC and things will never be the same.

Acel is gone…, Alpar aka Kuli is next. He is going to Canada on Thursday. What a change will be for the little guy; growing up on sweat and blood hard work produced lamb and goat meat here in the U.S. and living the rest of his life on subsidized Canadian bacon (hopefully uncured)…

Ag or Zoli has to wait longer because mom is a busy doctor and dad travels a lot and they want to have a block of time to get the little monster accommodated with the rest of the pack under direct NEW parental supervision,  as mom said, she will be on “petarnety” leave for two weeks.

So life is going on…

The Catskill Pumi Globe Trotter Pups are back again, at this time on “Fox and Friends,” Morning News from Manhattan, New York City.

Let me tell you friends, the Saturday socialization party has paid off big time this morning while we were at Fox News Studios.  The country pups have behaved like super stars in the big city.  Before the show, the tech crew and every one around were patting, hugging, photographing them in the morning from six o’clock on until we got on stage around seven o’clock.

Enroute to NYC Sunday night yhey were quiet travelers, and graceful guests in the west village of Manhattan.

They must have missed their daily routine and exercise, because when we got home, they were ready to chase the ram and the buck out of Delaware County.  As of now, they sleep like milk in the jar.

Farewell to Acsinnadratta Acel…

It has been marked in the calendar as the day of the “Puppy Party.”  Yes, indeed it turned out to be a day of real festivities.  Although, we had a rather gloomy forecast for the day, thanks to the weatherman, the rain did not materialized until late evening.  But by than most of us were waterproof anyway…

The pups were busy.  In the morning we got visitors from Delaware and New Jersey.  When Marika and Paul saw the pups, it was love at first sight. What a small planet.  Marika is from Kolzsvar (Cluj Napoca) Transylvania my University town…  We walked around, played with the dogs, and than they made their selection. By 3PM Acsinnadratta Acel was enroute to his new home in New Jersey.  It was sad to see him go but he and his new family is relatively close to us and most likely we will see him back for boarding in the future.

It was 3PM and there was no time left for daydreaming.  We were expecting a hungry mob for puppy socialization starting at 5PM.  And here they were coming… let’s be honest who can resist a basketful of pups and a delicious Hungarian dish cooked on open fire?

Today was a painful day.  The pups went to the vet to receive their first round of shots, dewormers and microchips.  It was a relatively uneventful event with a few squealing but everyone survived the day.  In the afternoon, they have already forgotten everything and the property was upside down again.

The brutal heat weave is gone thanks god and the temperature is back to its seasonal range.  The pups are enjoying the cooler weather and they’ve become much perkier.
